Deleting an account
In short
- You can delete the account yourself: in the app, Profile → Delete account. No request and no waiting.
- Deletion takes effect the moment you confirm: you are signed out everywhere, the CV leaves the crewing search, and every mailing stops.
- Your CV, photo and the personal fields of the profile are erased within 30 days. Documents from your vault are kept in a closed archive for one year, then deleted.
- A Premium subscription bought in the App Store or on Google Play is not cancelled with the account: turn off renewal in the store's subscription settings.
- Records of payments and invoices are kept without your personal data, because accounting and anti-fraud law requires it.
- The e-mail address is freed straight away — you can register again with the same address at any time.
- No access to the app? Write to support@marinehelper.com from the address the account is registered to.
- Part of the data can be removed without deleting the account: the photo, any document and any field of the CV are deleted in the app itself; for anything else, write to support.
1. Deleting from the app
- Open the app and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- At the bottom of the page, below the sign-out button, tap Delete account.
- Read what happens, confirm it is you — with your password, or with the account e-mail if you signed in through Google — and confirm the deletion.
The screen also has an optional field for the reason. It changes nothing about the deletion; it only tells us what went wrong.
2. Deleting by e-mail
If you cannot sign in — the phone is lost, the password is gone, the app is uninstalled — write to support@marinehelper.com from the address the account is registered to and ask for the account to be deleted.
We may ask you to confirm your identity, so that a stranger cannot delete someone else's account. The answer comes within 30 days; in practice, within a few working days.
3. Deleting part of the data without deleting the account
You do not have to delete the account to remove something from it.
- Photo — open the CV in the app, tap the photo and choose delete. It disappears from the profile and from the crewing search at once.
- Documents — every document in the CV and in the vault has its own delete button; the scan and its details are removed together, at once.
- Fields of the CV — phone, messengers, address, next of kin, biometric details and any other field can be cleared and saved empty. An empty field is not stored.
- Anything else — write to support@marinehelper.com from the address the account is registered to and say what to delete: the history of mailings, the data of a particular order, and so on. The answer comes within 30 days.
Two things stay while the account exists: the e-mail address, because the account is tied to it, and the records of payments and invoices — see section 6.
4. What happens immediately
- All sessions end: you are signed out on every device, and the password stops working.
- The CV leaves the crewing search and every candidate list. Companies stop seeing the profile.
- All mailings, digests and notifications stop.
- The e-mail address is released from the account, so it can be used for a new registration.
- Shared vault folders are closed: their links stop opening.
- A Premium subscription in the App Store or on Google Play keeps renewing until you turn renewal off in the store's subscription settings: on iPhone and iPad, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
5. What is deleted within 30 days
- The CV file and the photo.
- The personal fields of the profile: name, surname, date of birth, address, city, region, nearest airport, description.
- The contact lists tied to the profile.
The 30-day window exists for one reason: if the account was deleted by mistake or by someone who should not have done it, support can restore it during that time. After the window closes, restoring is impossible — the data is gone.
6. What is kept, and why
Records of orders, payments and invoices are kept without your personal data — they carry the amount, the date and the document number, not a person. Ukrainian accounting law and tax rules require keeping these records, and payment providers require them for anti-fraud checks. The same applies to service logs needed to prove a payment or a dispatch actually happened.
Documents from your vault are not erased with the account: they are moved to a closed archive that neither companies nor any link can reach, and kept for one year from the deletion — to settle disputes and answer lawful requests. After a year they are deleted.
There are no other exceptions. Everything else that identifies you is erased on the schedule above.
7. Registering again
Deleting an account does not blacklist the address. You can register again with the same e-mail whenever you like — it will be a new account, empty, with no access to the data of the old one.
